    Six years ago, my wife and I started Acadia Sports. Our intent was to provide not only quality products at great prices but, also to provide excellent Customer Service. For the first few years, thanks to customers like you, the business was moving along well. We were able to provide additional products and maintain our service goal.

    As you are well aware, a few years ago, the economy took a turn for the worse. Small family owned businesses like ours were severely impacted by this. In addition, very recently, the cost of products from our factories have risen significantly. The cost of graphite (the main component in our rods) has risen 75% in just the past few months!!! This severely impacts our goal to provide you with products at very reasonable prices. We are not big enough to be able to drive the prices down.

    With all of these factors, my wife and I find ourselves in the unenviable position of struggling to pay not only the business expenses but our personal expenses as well. In addition, with the price increases we can no longer meet our goal of providing great prices on equipment. It is with great sadness that we must close the business.

    Both of us will retain great memories of talking to customers like you all over the United States. Both of us will retain great memories of having our son and friends join us in the business. All of us will retain memories of friends, family, grandchildren, and friend's children all running around the warehouse as we sent out orders and answered phones. We have you to thank for that. Thank you.
